bordering a little on neo-luddism, but i can agree with the crux of this.
it's very dangerous, however, to blame the technology, rather than the system it's being plugged into. you look at the awful comments all over youtube. did they not exist before? no, they existed. you just didn't know they were there.
we sit around complaining about how badly implemented the social media sites are, without realizing they're designed "badly" on purpose. is it about building connections? sure - it's about connecting consumers with advertisers.
that's not your phone's fault, though. it's a function of the socio-economic reality we inhabit.
i've never owned a smart phone. i don't think i'm missing out.

working with disadvantaged people is a job - that it is, it is labour - and should come with a pay check, holidays and benefits, like any other job. it also requires a level of training. four years, and a degree's worth, actually.
stop playing into the thatcherism. this isn't the church's responsibility. it's not the responsibility of good meaning citizens, either. it's a general social responsibility. there's an economy underlying it, and it should be treated that way.

these are fake views. it's actually endemic in the industry, all the major labels do this, and they've been caught doing it repeatedly.
i'm getting a lot of fake responses. they seem to have a lot invested in this.
