you know, i've actually never really listened to a lot of schubert. it's in this huge
pile of stuff that i've just written off as "beethoven lite", which
isn't to say that i wouldn't vote for infinite beethoven, so much as it
is to point out that i'd rather listen to the real thing.
i'm
going to give schubert's ninth a chance tonight, though. can he prove
to me that he's adding something worthwhile to beethoven's stylistic
revolution? or will he just further perpetuate my low expectations?
