meh. there are lots of "things" happening in this guy's music, but they don't work together or unfold, they just spin out to nowhere in these disconnected, independent circles. there's no concept of musical development. the counterpoint has no voice leading. there's no signature shifts. it encapsulates the aesthetic of idm, without the "intelligent" part. that is to say that it's purely a commodity.

if you're interpreting idm as a specific sound that existed in a specific geographic area in a specific time period, then you've misunderstood what i said - but there's a specific logic to this that denies this is idm. it's not at all what i meant by using the term "idm", though. i meant it in the more abstract sense of using the techno form to create aurally interesting soundscapes, which applies across a number of electronic subgenres. several recent broad forms (jazz, rock especially) have required these kinds of labels (like progressive, or fusion) to specify between serious extrapolations of the sound and more pedestrian attempts.

the general intent to make that kind of music is clear in the bulk of his works, even his poppiest material. but, he really doesn't seem to have the slightest idea how.

You're far too sober and analytical to enjoy this music properly.

that may be true, but i don't think it speaks well for the music.
