so, i turn my music feed back on and this is the first thing that comes up..
"Stone Temple Pilots are streaming their new EP, High Rise on Pandora. This will be their first release with Linkin Park's Chester Bennington fronting the band as their vocalist after Scott Weiland was fired earlier in March."
maybe i should just turn it back off.
i actually haven't heard a full stp record since this one, which was 1996. i couldn't actually care less. it's just...*that guy*. why *that guy*.
i'd even go so far as to say i'd rather hear weiland make solo records, anyways. this largely ignored and forgotten record belongs near the top of any competent best-of-the-90s list...

I have that solo album. It is for sure an underestimated gem

i used to like Linkin Park. Then i turned 17.
I actually developed the following statement a couple years ago.
"Worshiping authoritarian-lefist heroes is like being a Linkin Park fan. No one is going to call you on it in high school, but by university, we'll all expect you to have better taste."

i'm trying to remember how old i was around the time. i think i was a bit older. korn, i flirted with a bit in the mid-90s, but linkin park was something that was only ever met with ridicule. even coming from the point of view of somebody that sort of liked the pre-bro freaked-up version of nu metal, or perhaps because of that, it was just beyond contrived.
