it's rare that i'll get past a few seconds of a hip-hop record, but this instantly seemed more interesting than your average hip-hop and i actually sort of like this. is it even hip-hop? i think you'd have to label it that way in the end, but it's drawing pretty liberally from free jazz, from very early skinny puppy (as you might hear on brap) and a little bit from the anthromusicology (ok. ethnomusicology, then.) of those early byrne/eno projects. the result is hip-hop in the same way that something like die warzau was, meaning there's likely to be a large crossover with industrial, in terms of fan bases.

i kind of didn't think that music like this existed any more....
