it's true in a sense, but the legacy of the sex pistol's nihilism lies in hair metal (think guns 'n' roses) rather than punk, which quickly aligned itself in opposition to the mclaren/westwood scam and the aimless rebellion it was pushing for pure profit. lydon moved on - pil is far better in every conceivable way. but the sex pistols' legacy has really been badly misinterpreted...
