the warner bros sequence, which includes sire and reprise releases, emerges with a discernible and unique chronology in the mid 1980s with the bar code prefix 75992. note that the elektra bar code was 755960, atlantic used 7567 and nonesuch used 7559. this allows for a clear separation between these four arms of warner. this prefix disappears around 1993, after the buyout by time, and is replaced with 9362.
