well, sure, this is disposable pop. is there anything she did that wasn't disposable pop? it was the same shit, it just had a bit of attitude to it.

but you have to understand how the industry works in terms of trends. the people that make decisions really are flat out fucking dumb enough to categorize artists by their ethnicity and think markets can coalesce around ethnicity. latinas are the trend right now. gwen got lucky in landing a tv spot that brought some attention to herself, and she's cashing in on it.

and, see, that's where people are missing the point - gwen stefani has always focused her career around profit and not art. if you were expecting something different, you're seeing something that was never there. i mean, what kind of artist sleeps with gavin rossdale, let alone marries him? and, this discussion might be pretty different if trey spruance had a hot sister....

so, here's the thing: if you were listening to no doubt in 1993, then, no, this isn't for you. your daughter might like it, though. that's by design...


it's not a bad beat, but it could use a little more development to take the focus off the repetition in the chorus.
