what do you mean by "triggering it herself"? do you mean you think she is playing a theremin to get the polyphonic effect and not really singing it on her own?

I don't know, it sounds too human to be a theremin And there are other singers who use this voice technique; overtone singing is said to have originated in Mongolia

I believe she's using her hands to demonstrate which direction her fundamental and overtone are going in, in relation to each other because if you're not used to hearing overtone singing, it's not always easy outright to catch what each voice is doing.

i bet you think that when conductors are moving their hands it's just because they're excited, right

there's clear evidence of blatant theremin use right in front of you, and none of you want to see it!

her voice sounds exactly like an oscillator; it's not too human, but clearly synthetic.
