cti became independent in 1967 and went bankrupt in 1979. it licensed it's catalog to columbia, which remastered it before in turn being purchased by sony. cti continued to exist for a while after that. while cti's 70s catalog is now owned by sony-columbia, it doesn't seem as though cti was ever bought by sony or columbia.
